Enhance your thinking. Expand your minds. Dare to think strategically. We dare to do so. Our keen chess players partake in regular practices, where they eagerly take on the challenge of playing against other schools. The challenge of winning a game is fun, but is not the be all and end all. We enjoy learning from each other and interacting with our peers. We welcome anyone from Grade 4-7 to be part of our team.
The Blouberg Ridge Marimba Band is comprised of learners from Grade 4-7, playing a variety of African instruments. They perform at various school events during the year and they take part in the annual Tygerberg Eisteddfod. The marimba band has received Honours for their performances.

Senior Drama Group
Senior Drama takes place throughout the year on two afternoons per week. Pupils are encouraged to attend and this affords pupils many opportunities to perform. They are invited to to participate in eisteddfods, audition for school plays and perform at assemblies. Lessons focus on enhancing breath control, improving enunciation and voice projection. Pupils are taught the skills involved in mime and interpreting music. Lessons also focus on improvisation in the form of role play, television presentation and presenting advertisements. It is a fun filled activity which helps the introvert to grow in confidence and the confident child to become part of a group.
Pupils are invited to join a fun-filled environment where we offer one-hour sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. If you want your child to be creative and to have the self-confidence to express themselves, they can be encouraged to join. Children will be able to expand their skills and knowledge in these small art classes with plenty of individual attention.
